Our client is an established business media and events business. They have significant heritage within their sector and are recognised as the leading news portal. They offer several solutions to customers and have recently launched a new membership service to the market.

About the role of a Membership Subscription Sales Manager:

As a Sales Manager, you will focus on generating new subscriptions to their new membership offering. This service gives customers access to updated newsfeeds, historical content, exclusive webinars and industry analytics and more. This position will be a new business role, but you will have significant data to work with and the chance to shape their offering. You will need to bring expertise in building vital membership subscriptions; this is a real chance for someone to come in at the start of this venture and take it to the market. To do this, you will need to be talking to a wide range of customers from household names, educational establishments all the way through to small independent operations.

Does your profile match up?

You should be able to demonstrate competency in the below key areas, it is not essential to meet all requirements, but priority will be given to applications that satisfy most:-

  • Have successfully sold B2B membership packages (ideally from a trade body or business network).
  • Experienced in selling B2B subscriptions where there is a paywall.
  • Able to flex your sales style from dealing with tiny businesses to large PLC’s.
  • Experienced in selling over the phone and building relationships.
  • Able to work with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Trained in consultative sales techniques.
  • Ability to spot new opportunities and sell multiple packages.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Evidence of working in a team environment towards a common goal.
